ENVIRONMENTAL ROOTS - WHEATLEY
4-week training course designed to prepare customers for our Changing Lives and Modern Apprentice positions with the company. The 4 weeks consist of 2 weeks classroom-based training and a 2-week placement with our Neighbourhood Environmental Teams. As part of the training, trainees with go through small plant machinery training, First Aid, Health and Safety, Manual Handling and be registered on the Charted Institute in Housing for the Environmental Level 2 Qualification.
When on the 2-week placement general duties would include maintaining our areas by grass cutting, hedge trimming, stair cleaning, and bulk uplift, among other things. If the trainee completes the course successfully, we will look to progress them to opportunities we have at the time or the foreseeable future, such as;
Changing Lives programme, a 1-year paid placement for over 20s paying £12.00 ph.
Environmental Modern Apprenticeship, a 2 Year Modern Apprentice for 16–19-year-olds. working towards SVQ 2 Facility Services
Our changing lives trainees and modern apprenticeships will be part of our award-winning Neighbourhood Environmental Teams, delivering excellent customer service to customers, while improving and maintaining local communities.
Duties include cutting grass, hedge and tree trimming, weed removal, stair cleaning, graffiti removal, bulk uplifts, house clearances and general neighbourhood maintenance.
