Make It Your Own (Impact Arts)
This group is open to any young person who has ever lived away from home (been in care) and is now going into their first tenancy. The MIYO team will give you a personal budget of £150 to help make your new house your home. They will help you personalise it and teach you decorating and DIY hacks to keep your home looking great.
Each participant takes part in 1-1 sessions where the Make It Your Own team get to know the young person over 12 weeks and help them identify what support they need to help maintain their tenancy. This could be teaching them budgeting skills, decorating techniques, DIY skills, good organising systems and more. Impact Arts provides up to £150 per young person to help them with this.
Participants are also encouraged to take part in a monthly group session which they can continue to attend, even when they have completed their 12 weeks. This session is very much about providing ongoing support and building supportive peer groups.
