Springboard is a 5-week employability and personal development program aimed at moving young people toward education, training, and employment or support to sustain existing engagements.

During the course, we deliver employability workshops on CVs, interviews, job searching, applying for college, budgeting and finance. In addition to the employability sessions, we will be doing a mixture of social activities like bowling, escape rooms and local sight seeing. The course will also focus on mental health and wellbeing topics such as anxiety and stress management.

Young people will receive training on Emergency First Aid at Work and Elementary Food Hygiene. To help increase their employability, particpants will be encouraged and supported to complete 25 hours of volunteering during or after the course. The course will finish with a 3-day residential trip with food, accommodation, and transport are covered. The residential will allow participants to step out of their comfort zone and enjoy activities like archery, rock climbing and kayaking.

Personal development and wellbeing are a key focus of the project and we’ll be providing sessions aimed at developing confidence and building resilience. Springboard participants will be supported one-to-one outside of the course to identify goals and remove barriers to ensure everyone has the support they need to succeed.

A mixture of employability and personal development sessions held three days a week from Tuesday to Thursday, and one-to-one support outside of course times. Additional external agencies will deliver specialist workshops.
