Employment Safety Net (Community Renewal)
The Employment Safety Net works with young people aged 16-24 who are stage 1 and 2 of the employability pipeline. The young people targeted by the project are those who are not currently engaged in other provision and have barriers to sustaining engagement due to a range of barriers from housing and financial issues, poor mental wellbeing, offending behaviour, young parents, young carers, care experienced young people and drug, alcohol or substance misuse. Young people can self refer or be referred to the project with as much as a call or email. Youth workers undertake street work sessions, home visits, project or appointment visits as deemed necessary and work with the local high schools and professionals for both referrals and further signposting or support. Young people will be offered 1-1 support to identify their goals and steps to be supported to take. Intake is rolling throughout the year and there is no time limit to support. Project staff also run an Activity Agreement Hub for 16-19 year olds.
