Citadel Connect is not currently running - Summer 2024

Citadel Connect is an innovative training and volunteering programme based at the Citadel Youth Centre. The programme allows the young people to gain new skills, have new experiences, become active members of communities and make a positive difference to their lives. A 10 week training programme followed by a 10 week group volunteering project. Young people participating in the group programme get to do lots of fun team building activities, learn new skills and gain certificates and awards for your CV. Those who go on to do the volunteering project pick something that is important to them in the community such as: conservation of local areas, working with children, fundraising for their favourite local charity, working with older people, or anything else that will involve them in their local community and allow them to give something back.

The group meet weekly to get to know each other initially and then to put their skills to good use but choosing, planning and then delivering a volunteering group project to benefit their community. They receive bus tickets for the weeks that they attend the group as well as snacks every week and lunch on the longer days where they may be doing workshops or volunteering.
